Stargazing is a must have for everyone’s summer bucket list. The internet makes it easy to find out exactly what star will appear at what time, and the best location for the best view. So grab a blanket, your choice of refreshments, and prepare to enjoy the beautiful summer night sky. If you’re lucky, you might even see a shooting star!
2. Build a sandcastle
Get yourself some buckets, find a spot where the sand is moist but not too wet, and get started on your masterpiece! Use as much imagination as you can and don’t hold back! Remember, this is your piece of art with you as the only artist!
3. Collect seashells at the beach
Seashells come in all shapes, colours, sizes .. you name it! Grab a mason jar and go to the beach and start collecting seashells of your choice. You can display them at home or make seashell crafts such as seashell shadowboxes or shell candles. The possibilities are endless!
4. Ride a ferris wheel
What’s more relaxing than overlooking the entire city in the open summer air? Don’t forget to take a selfie at the top!
5. Go on a road trip
Plan out a road trip with your best friends. Or if you’re more of a free spirit, simply hit the open road and see where it takes you. It doesn’t have to be long or far, just get out of the city environment and enjoy the nature, wildlife, and scenery.
6. Enjoy s’mores at a campfire
What better way to bond than to share stories in front of a warm campfire while enjoying delicious s’mores. Grab a couple of friends or family members and hit the beach or maybe a forest setting. Hopefully one of you know how to make a fire!
7. Camp out in your backyard
Many of us have always wanted to snuggle up in a sleeping bag. However, some of us can’t handle the bugs, the animals, and intensity of a real camping trip. The next best thing? Campout in your backyard! The nature definitely won’t be as scary and if you do wind up feel uneasy you can go back to the comfort of your home.
8. Barbecue and potluck
Invite your neighbours over for a barbecue and potluck. It’s a great way to strengthen community spirit and bond with your fellow peers. On top of that, enjoy an awesome meal and ice cold refreshments. Careful not to burn the food though!
Geocaching is a great way to discover your adventurous side. It’s an outdoor activity in which participants use a GPS or other navigational devices to look for boxes called “geocaches”. Once you find the box you can log in your visit and swap one of the “goodies” in the box for something of your own.
10. Make homemade ice cream
Why buy ice cream when you can make your own ice cream that’s just as tasty but also low in fat and organic? There’s many online recipes that you can use although a couple will require an ice cream maker. Use what you have to treat yourself to some delicious dessert!
